I’m back with a link to my latest Women Who Dare episode. I spoke with the courageous Brittany Bentz and her mother, Melinda. The two women dared to enter the confusing labyrinth known as the military justice system to seek punishment for Brittany’s rapist.
When Brittany Bentz was just 16 years old, she was raped by an older family friend who she’d met in her martial arts class. He was also an airman, living on an army base close to Brittany’s home. It took her weeks to share the horrific crime with her mother, Melinda, but the two decided to pursue charges the only way they could – through the military justice system. Although they were warned about how difficult it’d be, Melinda and Brittany knew that standing up to Brittany’s rapist in court was a necessary step towards healing.
