I recently spoke with Forbes’ contributor Bonnie Marcus about my new memoir DARING: MY PASSAGES.
“Whether or not we are born with fears or learn them is the subject of ongoing debate with psychologists. Most experts will agree, however, that our fears limit how successful we are in our relationships and careers.
In her memoir Daring: My Passages, author Gail Sheehy tells her personal story of overcoming her fears and examines what allowed her to persevere when she had setbacks and failures. It wasn’t until she completed the manuscript for the book that she realized that it was daring; daring to take risks despite her fear.
As the debate continues over whether or not women’s lack of confidence or hesitancy to take risks holds them back from career advancement, Gail’s story and subsequent Daring Project serve as an inspirational model for women to dare to take the risks that will lead to more fulfilling careers and lives.
I spoke with Gail recently about her own journey, how she developed the courage to conquer her fears, and how taking risks contributed to her tremendous success as a journalist and author.”
